Exporting your walks
CityWalker can export all your walks as GPX files, the standard format used by most mapping and fitness apps. Use it to view your routes in another app, analyse them on your computer, or just keep a copy of your data.
How to export
-
1Open Settings and scroll down to the Data section.
-
2Tap Export as GPX.
-
3Your phone's share sheet opens. Save the file, send it to yourself by email, or open it directly in another app.
Tip: All your walks are exported at once as a single
ZIP file. Each walk is a separate GPX file inside the ZIP, named with
the date, time, and city. For example,
walk_2026-05-24_13-07_Praha_1.gpx.
What's included
- GPS track. The full route as latitude and longitude points, each with a timestamp.
- Walk name. The name you gave the walk, or the date if unnamed.
- Start and end time. When the walk began and finished.
- Distance. Total distance in metres.
Note: Walks that were imported from a GPX file do not
have per-point timestamps in the export. Walks you recorded directly
in CityWalker do include timestamps, so pace and speed data will be
available in the receiving app for those.
Compatible apps
GPX is a widely supported open format. You can open your exported files
in apps like OsmAnd, Komoot, Strava, Garmin Connect, or any desktop GIS
tool. Just unzip the file first and open the individual
.gpx
files.
